Registering and Accessing a Workshop

Register: Once you have purchased a class you are registered. Your copy of the invoice is not your confirmation, only a copy of your purchase. Please keep it handy in case you need to refer to in the event of any questions about the class.

Confirmation:  Confirmations are sent manually once payment is received. You will receive a confirmation of your registration within 48 hours. Please check your spam/junk folders during this time period to make sure you receive your confirmation. If after 48 hours you still have not received it please contact us to make sure we actually received your payment. When you receive your confirmation it will also give you simple instructions about receiving your invitation to the workshop.

Invitation to Workshop: After you receive your confirmation you will receive a 2nd email with your invitation to join the workshop you purchased. Unless you have purchased a new class that has not started yet, once you receive your confirmation your invitation usually follows shortly thereafter. If you have not received your invitation within 24 hours of receiving your confirmation please contact us as sometimes the Ning system drops an email address when sending invitations.

For New Classes, invitations are sent within 24 hours of the day the class begins, unless there is an unforseen circumstance.  Again,these are sent manually and we are EST U.S.

Log in: Upon receipt of your invitation email there will be a link within for you to click on. In order to get into your workshop you must sign up, or be signed into, Creative Workshops with the same email address of your invitation. You will then be directed to the Workshop Page and at the top of the page it will state that you have been invited to join the workshop and you must click on the Join Now Button. It will automatically take you directly into the workshop.

Accessing your Class at anytime: You have 24/7 access to any workshop you have purchased. You can access your class(es) in two different ways once you are signed in.

 1. You can click on your "My Page" (tab is at the top of every Creative Workshops page) and find all the workshops you belong to listed in the column below your Profile picture, simply scroll down until you come to class thumbnail(s) Clicking on any class thumbnail will take you directly into that class.

 2. Click on the Workshops Tab at the very top of every Creative Workshops page and you will be taken to the All Workshops Page. Simply scroll to find your class and then click on your workshop and you will be taken directly into the class. Your Creative Workshops sign in information is not the same as the video access information and vice versa. There is a separate user name and password within each workshop that is for video access only.

 For any workshop you are expected to have basic computer and Internet skills. You will need to be able to access the workshops with your ning ID that was used in your workshop invitation. If you do not have a high speed connection we can not guarantee you will be able to see the videos. You will need to be able to download files, copy, paste or save documents to your hard drive. It is your responsibility to know these skills before a workshop begins – these skills WILL NOT be taught during any workshop.

Information for our lovely International Friends

We have added the Yahoo Babel Fish translator boxes to our Ning network and hope you find this to be useful. I added both boxes because I find some browsers won't work with one but will work with the other.

The boxes will follow you to each page but for some reason they often appear at the very bottom of each page. These translator boxes also appear in the workshops.

Hello Cathy!Thank You so much for your great workshop-Journaling from the Inside Out-Lots of  great tips and prompts!I posted a few pictures today-Thanks again,D'marie

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've really enjoyed Cathy's workshop. Her quick and easy techniques were a great jumping off point for creating beautiful journaling pages I'm proud to share with others. The subject matter was personal and has given me incentive to add a few more pages to the project on things I would like to explore about myself. I've always been a journaler, however, this visual journal begs to be reviewed time and again and will help me to keep my goals in sight. Thanks Cathy for your wonderful workshop
I took your digital collage class and can't thank you enough for it! From knowing absolutely nothing about photoshop elements, I was able to start creating digital collages almost immediately thanks to your clear instructions and screen shots on the video.
Just seemed that you were right there across the table from me!
Enjoyed the videos very much and you did a wonderful job teaching.
Thanks again,
Lucille Cherwinski
I so enjoyed the workshops I took last year - the videos were invaluable. Without them the classes would have to have more information (detail) - at least for me. Thanks again Gail, staff and instructors. Haroldine Howell
Living in the U.K. I always looked enviously in Somerset Studio at the art courses and retreats, knowing that I would never be able to afford traveling to the States and doing one of these so it is lovely to be able to do them online. I like the way you can see the photos for all the courses because that's inspiration to do another one!
I've been very grateful for the prompt help when I haven't been able to reach the videos or pdfs. And the courses themselves are really good
So thanks
Angela Norris
I took Pam Carriker's Visual Journalism 101 & I found it very informative & a great all-around workshop for a beginning journaler like myself. I really appreciated the collage pages & the workbook. The videos were professionally created & and all the information was professionally presented. I've since taken another online workshop from an individual who also did videos & I can't emphasize enough how
much more professional & informative Pam Carriker's workshop was.
This leads me to feel that my money is best spent with Creative Workshops online art classes. I would have to hear high recommendation from others before I would consider any other company.
Thank you for offering this service & striving to do such a good job.
I am so happy to give a big 'hug' to the efforts and teachers of Creative Workshops.
I have taken two of your classes and have on other occassions told you how much they
furthered my understanding of Elements and how to use it.
I took classes with many Elements Guru's and spent a small fortune and did not understand nor come away from the classes with as much knowledge and enthusiam as I did yours.
The other classes SAID they were for beginners...but I guess no one was as much of a 'beginner' as I was because they assumed you knew way more than I did.
But your classes, Gail...'took me by the hand' and showed me step by step.
Thank you so much for taking the time to, first create these videos and then to be there for me when a question did arise.
GREAT JOB!
Hugs and Blessings,
Nancy
I, for one, am completely sold on your offerings. My very first online class, through CW, was with Jodi Ohl's Faux Encaustics class. It was awesome!
It gave me a foundation for freeing myself and actually doodling for the very first time. I loved the process, the videos were clear and precise.
As a result of my positive experience with Creative Workshops, I have signed up for Pam Carriker's Journal 365 class and cannot wait to get started.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Marilyn J. Rock
Great workshop, excellent teacher. The print-outs were great. It was my first experience with an online class, and taking this one made me want to take more
I have been consistently thrilled with all of the classes that I have taken at CW. I have taken more online classes with you than anywhere else and, as I know I have mentioned in the past, the fact that I can always go back to catch up or review is probably the single most important thing I can say!
Life happens and I have had some health challenges that mean I still have yet to finish classes that I have paid for some time ago. The fact that I can wait until I feel good is a huge for me.
The class offerings are always superior, well thought out and put together and offer so much in the way of variety. I was thrilled to find an online calligraphy class - they are so hard to find. Decorative brush painting is another class that I am so excited that you have made available. There are more classes that I am looking forward to taking from your excellent line up!
CW rocks in my book!
Gail, I simply HAD to write to tell you that your digital workshops are AMAZING. I have taken both of them, and, as I have previously indicated, I was an addict after the first lesson of the first class. I couldn't get enough. I kept playing and discovering and creating and have yet to quit. Or get bored (which is quite a feat for my ADD! LOL).
Long story short, I have taken my digital work 'on the road,' so to speak, and was notified last week that three of my digital pieces were accepted into an art show in New York! I cannot thank you enough and thought you'd be happy to know that your teaching is not only effective, but sublime.
Thank you again!
I have taken 2 of the Creative Workshops classes (Visual Journalism and Shades of Grey) and now I am enrolled in Journal 365. All 3 classes are taught by Pam Carriker. I was drawn to Pam's style of journaling and was happy to find her online video classes in Creative Workshops.
I started by downloading the supply lists and the class handouts. It's easy to do and they are a good reference.
Then I began watching the videos. Pam does an excellent job of creating videos that show her techniques clearly. She's a joy to listen to and watch as she creates journal pages on the fly. Her sunny personality shines through. I feel like I am in the room with her as she is teaching and guiding me on my journey. I play the video and work on my journal page as Pam does hers. I am always amazed by what I create. Pam is truly an inspiration!
One of the other fun things is posting pictures of my journal pages and seeing the work of others. It's wonderful to see the encouraging supportive comments that people post for each other's artwork. I feel like I have a network of artist friends around the world. It's a great feeling!
Thank you, Gail, for creating this network!
Hi Jodi,
I was wondering the Moleskin journal that you like to use...is it watercolor or a plain notebook journal? Also, if you don't mind me asking, where did your purchase it? Thanks, Cindy
Jodi,
Thank you so much for checking out my work. Your wonderful words are very much appreciated. I am working on a theme called Guardians. This is just one piece in the series. I am doing all sizes. Maybe I can finally get this warrior/fantasy thing out of my system. Probably not but I can only hope. LOL
Thanks Jodi,
That seems to be the only product I do not have so I will pick some up.
Once the class starts, my understanding is, we work through it at our own speed - it that correct? And we post our work for your input?
Thanks again,
Sue
Hello Jodi,
I am intersted in your workshop but am unsure what a workable fixative is? I have some acrylic sealer - will that do?
Thanks,
Sue
